...clearly 'Dan

On lead guitar, the incomparable Mr. Glynn Davies: the UK's greatest Steely Dan player today. Note perfect to the original recordings, Glynn recreates the classic solos for those notoriously demanding 'Dan audiences.

They are left with jaws suitably dropped!

The Office Party, South Shields.

A really great crowd of people provided The DSO
with a night to remember.

One of our most enjoyable gigs so far.

Terry Slesser in Free-flow !

Danettes
Dancing Doris and The Danettes

They were absolutely wonderful!
They were ok.
Barely average
Darned worst Steeleye Span band I ever heard

Saturday Night Fever has a lot to answer for !

The SPRING HEAD, Hull gave us all a tremendously warm and enthusiastic welcome and reinforced the opinion that The North East is the true home of Dandom in The UK! We've been told this many times and it seems to be true for some unknown reason. We don't need reasons though, it was a great first time for us, we had a ball and met some wonderful folks at the same time too. Many thanks to Terry & Pam for their great hospitality and for giving us the chance to play to this great audience. Special mention for Phil Williamson who made the initial contact and to all his friends and cousins who he dragged along instead of the annual trip to the fair!!!

Hi to the members of "HOUSEQUAKE"...lovely to meet you and hope to catch your band soon.

Phil Williamson's squad - Judi, Gary, Karen, Jim, & Brian....I think!!!

Make sure you don't miss any gigs this year!
You could be in for an unexpected treat with some very special guest singers in 2002.
After working with John Hopcroft, Tommo and
myself, Paul Shotan, on their UK tour 2001
The Platters are on a solemn promise to turn up
one night to give their spin on The Dan......
and to perform some of The DSO "doo-waps"!

Penno, The Mighty Axe and The Maestro - The Dog & Trumpet August 31st 2002

Jim (JIMX on the Yahoo Steely Dan Fan Club) from Fillongley in Warwickshire, UK: but now residing in sunny Cyprus (lucky bxxxxxd!!!).A staunch supporter since way back , putting up with the good and the bad but always encouraging us.
Jim is Steely Dan's greatest unrecognized asset and must be due for some hefty royalties by now for his tireless word-spreading efforts.
Thanks Jim for your kindness, generosity and constant support..   even from the snug comfort of your beach hammock!

Bob Eaton has been a Friend of The DSO from the very start and remains one of the most solid of supporters. He has an acute ear for all good music and can be relied upon to give an honest and therefore useful opinion on the state of play! He travels miles and for hours to gigs by public transport, which puts him into either the hero or the maniac category......whatever, he's a hero to the band and a great friend.
cheers Bob....how's the recycled bus ticket trade doing?

Andy (Dr Wu) Carter from Coventry in Warwickshire is a truly dedicated Dan fan, clocking up thousands of miles on his motorbike, in all weathers to  follow their music in all guises. He has become one of the band, helping out with promotion and always being there to offer encouragement. Andy is magic and we say a big "thank you" to him for sticking with us all the way.

It was a real delight to meet Madeleine at The Crazy Horse gig and to introduce her to Jim, Andy and other friends. A life long Dan Fan apparently but she's happy to make do with The DSO until D&W return!
Despite a few mishaps and some illness, Maddy has stuck
with us throughout 2001 and I hope we'll get to see her even
more often in 2002. Soon to be inducted into the Danettes?

Sidney and Chris Tan still hold the world record for most distance traveled to a DSO gig. All the way from Taiwan, en route to see Don & Walt  they were our most welcome guests in summer 2000. They run a bar and are major promoters of Don & Walt's.......and The DSO's stuff in Taiwan, insisting that their customers listen good and hard at every opportunity. It was a true delight to meet them, and spend an all too short time together. They promise they will be back!

Paul & Ann Stanley from Stafford, UK have stayed in touch after we first met at The NEC Steely Danfest and concert in 2000. A couple of people you instantly feel at ease with. Great 'Dan fans and lovers of all good music, open to the new and very discerning listeners. They've traveled miles to see us play and I'm glad to say they come back for more too! An avid muso (and budding keyboardist!), Paul has obscure records to equal the Bodleian Library it seems..! Napster's Man of The Year! The 'Dan seems to draw together genuinely nice folks and these are two of the best.

Oh come on I had to put him in here didn't I......my son Kai (Mistah K.T.)......1 year old and already into The 'Dan ....well that and The Teletubbies, anything farty noisy, rattles, scrunchy junk.....Top Of The Pops in fact ! Besides he gets to inherit all my keyboard stuff one day.........and step up in my place.......aaagggh you little usurper.

Duncan and Linda Butterfield from Darlington. Take their place on the DSO roll of honour for the greatest distance traveled to get pissed up at a gig award! They'e up there with Doctor Wu, Bob and supreme champion Sidney Tan (Taiwan).
What lovely people....Duncan totally embroiled in The 'Dan, lyric perfect (though tone not yet checked). Linda getting the bug to match? Duncan's lengthy and generous reviews are golden.......cheers to you both!

Jill and Morag in celebratory (possibly somewhat pissed?) pose at York 2002. Jill's first DSO gig.......and hopefully not the last! These girls can certainly shake their booty on the dance floor!

That's just the way the music takes a guy sometimes!
New friend Lemmuel "Lemmy" Liburd ( a guitar man himself ) gave Glynn the thumbs up and and Jill a good smackeroony just for the hell of it......and why not?

Steve and Lorraine Hague from Sheffield have supported The DSO faithfully from day one. He's a total Dan freak and one of the most ardent enthusiasts for this music I've met. More importantly he's a modest and generous guy......a great friend of the band.
Thanks for all your help, support and encouragement.
Ian "Beerberian" Monckton from Burton-On-Trent is the eloquent voice of the UK contingent on The Steely Dan Guestbook - Under The Banyan Trees. Taking on all comers with a stringent wit and phenomenal knowledge base, plus 5 rounds with Clas (in-joke!). We met Ian and Morag at Nottingham in 2002 and since that day they've been staunch and much appreciated supporters of The DSO, pulling strings and giving the Masonic grip to chase those juicy bookings.
Great to have you with us...thanks for all the laughs and lessons..
Sue from South Shields is a no-holds-barred Geordie lass with a heart the size of the Tyne. She could light up a mortuary just by strolling in! As soon as her crew arrived it was party time....a great friend and supporter of the band. The after-gig hug was a cracker...sent me all adolescent!!! We love ya pet. Where's a piccy of your other half John and your buddies Irene and Ralph? Got to get the whole gang in here.

Dano, the man o' the big swallie, always up for a party and ready to exercise that strong right arm...note the left arm has withered away from lack of use!!! We met him at a DSO show at The Torrington in London when he and Duncan travelled down from Darlington to meet up! Darlington is a good 300 miles from London!!! What a great Dan fan and dedicated afficiando......... an instantly warm and welcoming guy too.
We'd love to be able to see more of him.

Paul Freer has been a loyal and dedicated follower and friend of The DSO from the early years. He has always helped out in technical areas, on the desk, in the realm of video etc and now in 2002 he has secured prime time in one of the best studios in the country for us and given his skills free of charge. We owe him a huge debt, though his modest and reticent nature would dismiss this. Cheers mate!

It's not much but it's a small way of saying "thanks" to these, some of our supporters.
These people have all played major roles in the success of the band 'though they'd be too modest to realize it.
The DSO wouldn't survive if it wasn't for such support and valued friendship.

There are many more of you out there...don't be shy...send in your mug-shots!
